French toast pastry recipe details
- Ingredients
- 2 cups warm water (110 to 115 degrees)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 Tablespoon yeast
- 6 cups flour
- brown sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- nuts
Dissolve yeast, sugar, and salt in warm water. Let sit for 4 to 5 minutes. Slowly pour yeast mixture into 6 cups of flour, mixing continuously on speed 1. Mix for 5 to 6 minutes on speed 2 to 3.
Oil medium-sized bowl. Flip dough on to counter and knead 4 times. Put dough into oiled bowl and cover with wet cloth; let rise for 1 hour.
Divide dough into equal parts; let air out. Using rolling pin, roll dough into egg shape the same size as the loaf pan. Spread with brown sugar, cinnamon, and 1 layer of nuts. Roll into jelly roll. Pinch seams, bring ends up and seal. Let rise 30 minutes. Cook bread with seam down. Put into greased loaf pans. Cook at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
