Ingredients

3 double-thick slices of bread, cut into quarters, crust removed

3 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon white pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 Tablespoon sugar

Instructions:

Have syrups out and warmed. Start French Fryer heating; it’s ready when the light goes out.

Combine all ingredients except bread, beat well, and pour into flat soup bowl. Soak slices on both sides until they won’t hold any more batter. Fry 4 pieces at a time until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with parsley. Serve with warmed syrup. Increase measurements as needed for more servings.
