Ingredients
For the Custard: | |
350 ml | evaporated milk |
400 ml | condensed milk |
50 g | cheese, grated |
7 medium | eggs |
For the syrup: | |
200 g | sugar |
120 ml | water |
1 stick(s) | cinnamon |
Instructions
Combine all custard ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.For the syrup combine sugar and water in a pan until dissolved. Add cinnamon stick and cook over medium heat until light caramel colour, about 10 minutes.
Pour about 4 tablespoons of syrup into a pan to coat the bottom evenly. Cool for a few minutes until hardened.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Add custard mixture from blender. Put the pan in a larger pan that contains water so as to cook double boiler style.
Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or when middle of custard moves slightly.
Let cool for 15 minutes, or refrigerate if desired. To serve slice and serve with reserved, re-warmed syrup and whipped cream.
