Flamed steak recipe details
Ingredients
2 | steaks, sirloin or fillet |
butter | |
100 ml | brandy, warmed |
1 tbsp | shallots, finely chopped |
1 tbsp | chives, chopped |
½ tsp | Worcestershire sauce |
½ tsp | dry mustard |
salt, to taste | |
½ ml | dry red wine |
Instructions
Pound pepper into both sides of the steaks. In a skillet brown the meat in some butter on both sides. Pour brandy over the meat an ignite. But take care, that you don’t burn your hair! When the flame dies, remove the meat, salt the steaks lightly and keep them warm.Add the remaining ingredients to the pan juices and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir some knobs of ice cold butter in the gravy. Pour the sauce over the steaks and serve immediately.
