Flaherty house pears recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 4 Bosc pears
- 4 Tablespoons Reisling wine
- 4 teaspoons imitation vanilla
- 8 Tablespoons plum sauce
- 8 mint sprigs or Nastrutium flowers
- cinnamon
Spray flat 2 quart microwave-safe casserole dish with cooking spray. Peel pears. Cut in half lengthwise. Remove core and seeds. Place prepared pears in dish with core side down. Evenly pour wine over pears, making sure to moisten all sides. Drizzle 1 teaspoon vanilla on top of 2 halves. Repeat for other 3 pears. Cover. Cook on high setting in microwave for 2 minutes. Pears should be tender, not mushy.
On fruit plate, place 1 Tablespoon plum sauce. Spread out sauce to fill bottom of plate. Place one pear half core side-up in the middle of the sauce. Sprinkle pear with a dash of cinnamon. Garnish with mint or Nastrutium.
Serve immediately.
