Fish and bacon casserole recipe details
Ingredients
120 g | bacon, finely chopped |
3 | onions, finely chopped |
1 tbsp | butter |
800 g | white fish fillet |
1 tsp | Worcestershire sauce |
125 ml | tomato sauce |
125 ml | water |
salt and cayenne pepper | |
Cheddar cheese, optional |
Instructions
Fry bacon and onions in butter. Place a layer of fish in a greased ovenproof dish, cover with some of the bacon and onions. Season with salt and cayenne pepper. Repeat until all is used. Mix Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce with water and pour over all. Cover with aluminium foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 45 minutes.Optional: After 35 minutes remove aluminium foil and sprinkle with some grated Cheddar cheese and bake uncovered for the remaining 10 minutes.
