Filet mignon with capers recipe details
Steaks seared in real butter topped with sauted capers. My brother substitutes canned green peppercorns in place of black pepper.

Ingredients
Serves: 2- 2 choice filet mingons, 2 to 2 1/2 inches thick
- 1 (2 ounce) jar capers
- 1/2 cup salted real butter
- coarse ground black pepper
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 12 mins1. Heat cast iron skillet on medium 5 minutes. Rub pepper on both sides of filets. Drop butter in pan, being sure to ventilate smoke.
2. Sear filets in butter 6 minutes each side for medium rare; longer if desired. Add capers during cooking. Cook capers until slightly charred. Add juice from jar if capers begin to stick.
3. Place steaks on serving platter and top with the capers and pan drippings.
