Fiery four pepper bread recipe details
Fiery Four-Pepper Bread is a wonderful bread, that has a kick to it. NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!
Ready in: 3 hours
Ingredients
Serves: 8- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Tabasco(R) sauce (optional)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped jalapeno chili (optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter or marg. softened
- 4 cups bread flour
- 1/2 teaspoon medium grind black pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons bread machine yeast
Preparation method
Prep: 2 hours | Cook: 1 hour1. BREAD MACHINE:
2. Use basic/white cycle, remembering to add the liquids first if required by machine, if not then do so in reverse. Then set the machine on medium or light crust color setting.
3. OLD FASHON:
4. Measuring carefully, place water, butter, salt, flour, pepper, sugar and yeast in a mixing bowl, mix until dough is textured, and all ingredients are mixed up well. Lightly grease baking sheet; set aside.
5. When mixing is complete, remove dough to lightly floured surface. If necessary, knead in additional bread flour to make dough easy to handle. Roll dough into and kneed it (mostly here). Roll up dough and place it to rise for 30-50 mins. (until dough has doubled in bulk.
6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
7. Bake loaf 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from baking sheet; cool on wire rack.
