Fall spiced cran apple brisket recipe details
Almost like cider in meat form, this tasty slow cooker brisket makes a terrific autumn meal.

Ingredients
Serves: 9- 1 (4 pound) fresh beef brisket, cut in half
- 1/2 cup apple butter
- 1/4 cup ruby port wine
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon. coarsely ground pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tart apple, peeled and cubed
- 1 celery rib, chopped
- 1 small red onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup dried apples, chopped
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons cold water
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 8 hours1. Place brisket in a large slow cooker.
2. Combine remaining ingredients (except for cornstarch and water) and pour over brisket. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours.
3. Remove meat from slow cooker and keep warm while you make a gravy. Pour the pan juices from the slow cooker into a saucepan and bring to a boil. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and water; slowly pour into the pan juices and whisk. Cook for about 2 minutes to thicken the sauce.
