- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger or 1 Tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger

Mix first 7 ingredients in a food processor. Put in a large bowl and stir in the raisins or nuts. Add milk and mix very carefully. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake in a 425 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden. Serve warm with butter or favorite preserves.
