Ingredients
Serves: 6- 2 pounds beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 (1 1/2 ounce) packet beef stroganoff seasoning for the slow cooker (made by McCormick)
- 1 pound sliced baby portobello mushrooms
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup port wine
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 6 hours1. Pour oil into a large skillet and set over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook to brown, then stir in water and the stroganoff seasoning to coat. Pour into a small slow cooker.
2. Melt butter in the skillet and add mushrooms and onion. Cook for about 6 minutes to soften, then add wine, mustard, and sugar. Stir to coat, then mix in with the beef in the slow cooker.
3. Cook on Low for 6 hours, then add sour cream and stir well. Serve over noodles or rice.
