Easy french toast recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup low-fat milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon grated orange peel
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 8 slices day-old raisin bread
Confectioner’s sugar, orange peel curls, bacon roses, or orange slices for garnish optional.
In medium bowl, beat together eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, grated orange peel, vanilla, and nutmeg until well blended. Place bread, over lapping slightly, in 13 x 9 baking pan. Pour egg mixture over bread. Let soak about 5 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed, turning once. Place bread in single layer on well greased baking sheet and bake in preheated 375-degree oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. To serve, garnish with one of above and choice of syrup or home made raspberry or blue berry syrup. Preparation time is 10 minutes. Standing time is 5 minutes. Baking time is 20 minutes.
