Dolmas details
Ingredients
- Minced meat (Qeema) – ½ kg
- Rice – ½ cup
- Coriander leaves (hara dhania) – 25 grams
- Garlic – 1 tsp
- Onion – 2 tbsp
- Cabbage – ½ kg
- Salt and black pepper – to taste
Ingredients for tomato sauce
- Tomatoes – ½ kg
- Onion – 2tbsp
- Garlic – 1 tsp
- Thyme – ¼ tsp
- Oregano – ¼ tsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt and black pepper powder – to taste
Instructions
- Mix minced meat, salt, black pepper powder, rice, onion, garlic and coriander leaves thoroughly in a bowl
- Cut the cabbage down half its length and then separate each leaf and wash
- Steam the leaves, blend tomatoes for tomato sauce
- Heat oil in a pot. Slightly fry tomatoes, onion and garlic
- Cook for a little while. Add thyme, oregano, salt and black pepper and cook until akk ingredients are blended
- Place spoonfuls on mince meat into cabbage leaves
- Fold and seal with the toothpicks
- Dip folded leaves in tomato sauce and cook over low flame for 10mins with the lid covered
- Garnish with remaining tomato sauce
