Chips, beef, and chili deep-fried into balls. Who’s the hero of football Sunday? No matter how many points your running back gets, it’s gonna be you if you made this amazing appetizer.
Ready in: 1 hour

Ingredients

Makes: 30 meatballs
  • 1 (15 ounce) can no-bean chili
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups Fritos or other salty chips, crushed really well
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Preparation method

Prep: 25 mins | Cook: 5 mins | Extra time: 30 mins, chilling

1. Get out a bowl. Put in the can of chili, the raw ground beef, 1 cup crushed chips, chili powder, and salt in a bowl. Mix together with your hands. Then form the mix into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Cover the sheet with wax paper and refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
2. Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
3. Dredge meatballs in remaining chips, then fry for two minutes (in batches, depending on how big your deep fryer is). Set on a paper towel to drain off fat. Serve with beer.
