Ingredients
Makes: 30 meatballs- 1 (15 ounce) can no-bean chili
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 3 cups Fritos or other salty chips, crushed really well
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Preparation method
Prep: 25 mins | Cook: 5 mins | Extra time: 30 mins, chilling1. Get out a bowl. Put in the can of chili, the raw ground beef, 1 cup crushed chips, chili powder, and salt in a bowl. Mix together with your hands. Then form the mix into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Cover the sheet with wax paper and refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
2. Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
3. Dredge meatballs in remaining chips, then fry for two minutes (in batches, depending on how big your deep fryer is). Set on a paper towel to drain off fat. Serve with beer.
