Crusty cheese damper recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | self-raising flour |
600 ml | milk, approximately |
102 g | cheese, grated |
1 tsp | dry mustard |
1 tbsp | sesame seeds |
Instructions
Sift flour into bowl, stir in enough milk to create sticky dough.Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth, shape into an oval. Place dough into lightly greased oven tray; press out with fingers to a thickness of about 3cm.
Using a sharp knife, mark into 10 wedges, cut wedges into dough about 1cm deep. Sprinkle dough with combined cheese and mustard, top with sesame seeds.
Bake in hot oven for 15 minutes, reduce heat to moderately hot, bake further 20 minutes or until golden brown and damper sounds hollow when tapped with fingers. Damper is best served hot, straight from the oven.
