Crunchy apple strudel with cherry sauce recipe details
Ingredients
375 g | apples, peeled, cored and diced |
1 tbsp | lemon juice |
50 g | sugar |
100 g | cherries, pitted and halved |
1 pack(s) | ready rolled out puff pastry |
2 tbsp | breadcrumbs |
1 tbsp | cornstarch |
250 ml | cherry nectar |
icing sugar |
Instructions
In a bowl mix the apples with lemon juice and sugar. Allow to soak for 30 minutes.Line a baking tray with parchment paper and roll out the pastry on the paper.
Stir the cherries and the breadcrumbs into the apples. Spread the mixture lengthwise in the middle of the pastry. Brush the pastry edges with water. Roll up the pastry and brush the outside with water. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes.
Bring the cherry nectar with the cornstarch to a boil. When thickened, take from heat and allow to cool down.
Dust the strudel with icing sugar and serve with the cherry sauce.
