- 1/2 pound butter
- 1 package cream cheese (8 ounces)
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
I found this recipe in an old scrap book. My mother had pasted in recipes from magazines and newspapers, as well as writing her own in it. My mother was born in Arizona, named after the state, but called Zona, moved to Texas as a baby, and later to New Mexico where she lived until her death.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter and cream cheese together. Sift flour, sugar, and salt together and work into butter and cream cheese mixture. Chill in refrigerator 12 hours. Use plenty of flour when rolling out. Cut it into squares, top each square with strawberry jam, and bake about 10 minutes.
The pastry keeps well in the refrigerator wrapped in plastic wrap.
