Ingredients
1 kg | potatoes |
500 g | minced beef |
2 tbsp | butter |
45 ml | milk |
25 g | lard |
2 medium | onions, minced |
100 g | bacon rashers, minced |
1 tbsp | flour |
150 ml | beef broth |
200 g | cherry tomatoes, diced |
110 g | peas |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Boil the potatoes and place into a large bowl. Combine butter and milk, season with salt and pepper and pour over potatoes. Mash with a fork.Heat the lard in a frying pan and sauté the onion until golden brown. Add the minced beef and bacon and cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add the flour and mix well.
Stir in the stock, bring to a quick boil then reduce the heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Place half the mince mixture in an ovenproof casserole dish. Arrange the tomatoes on top, then add the peas and the remaining mince.
Place the mashed potatoes on top and then bake at 200°C for 40 minutes, until golden on top.
