Cornish hen with tangerine recipe details
Ingredients
4 medium | cornish hens |
4 large | tangerines, sliced |
250 ml | freshly squeezed orange juice |
65 ml | white wine |
55 g | butter |
30 g | onions, finely chopped |
80 g | mushrooms, sliced |
30 g | walnuts, chopped |
30 g | thyme |
1 tsp | salt |
1 tsp | soy sauce |
2 clove(s) | garlic, crushed |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C.Rinse the hens and pat dry. Season with salt inside and outside and place 1 tablespoon of butter into each hen.
In a bowl, mix together the onions, garlic, thyme, mushrooms, tangerines and walnuts. Stuff each hen with some of the mixture.
In a saucepan, mix the white wine with soy sauce, salt and orange juice and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Pour 2 tablespoons of the liquid mixture into each hen.
Bake the hens for 50 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Coat every 10 minutes with the liquid mixture.
