Ingredients

1 kg potatoes, peeled
600 g codfish fillet, cut into 12 pieces
1  onion, chopped
150 g single cream
1 tbsp lemon juice
80 g bacon, thinly diced
salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 tbsp flour
3 tbsp butter
300 ml vegetable stock
3 tsp mustard
6 tbsp oil

Instructions

Cook the potatoes in salted water until done. Drain, peel and slice the potatoes.

Season the fish with salt and turn in flour until well coated.

In a saucepan, heat the butter and sauté half of the onions. Dust with 1 heaped tablespoon of flour and cook stirring for 1-2 minutes. Pour in the stock and the cream and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently. Season to taste with mustard, salt, lemon juice and pepper.

In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and fry the bacon for 3-4 minutes. Take out of the pan and set aside. Add 2 tablespoons of oil into the pan and fry the potatoes until crispy and golden, turning occasionally. Add the remaining onions and cook for 2 more minutes. Return the bacon and season with salt and pepper.

In a pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil and fry the fish until golden and crispy on both sides.

Serve the fish immediately, together with the fried potatoes and mustard sauce.
