Coconut rolls recipe details
A sweet roll with coconut filling.

Ingredients
Serves: 12- Dough
- 4 pkg. granular yeast or yeast cakes
- 2 c. of warm milk
- 5 T. sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 lb flour
- 1 T. margarine
- Filling
- 1 stick of margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 cup grated coconut
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 25 mins | Extra time: 40 mins, rising1. Dough: Put yeast in a bowl. Slowly add half the milk and half the flour. Mix lightly. Let it rest until it is doubled in size.
2. Put the rest of the flour in a pile on a flat surface and make a hole in the middle. Put yeast mixture in the hole. Add the margarine, egg yolks and the rest of the milk. Mix well adding the rest of the flour. Add more flour if necessary. Let the dough rest for 20 min. or until it has doubled in size.
3. Sprinkle flat surface with flour. Put the dough in the flour and roll it out flat.
4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
5. Filling: Mix the margarine and sugar, The filling should have a creme consistency. Spread the filling over the dough then sprinkle the coconut on top. Roll the dough up and then cut it like you would for cinnamon rolls. Put rolls in a greased pan. Lightly brush egg yolk on top of each yolk. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over rolls (optional)
6. Bake for 25 minutes in pre-heated oven.
