Classic gruyere omelet recipe details
An easy omelet with Gruyere–a cheese from Switzerland, but not swiss cheese.

Ingredients
Serves: 1- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon chopped chives
- 1 1/2 teaspoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup finely shredded Gruyere cheese
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 2 mins1. In a small bowl, whisk eggs with water, salt, and pepper. Stir in chives.
2. Melt butter in an 8-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the eggs. Cook, stirring, for about 1 minute to begin setting the eggs.
3. Use a spatula to spread the eggs in an even layer, top with cheese, and cook for another 30 seconds to fully set the bottom side of the omelet. Fold in half and serve.
