Cinnamon stars recipe details
Ingredients
3 medium | eggs, whites only |
200 g | icing sugar |
1 | lemon, the grated skin |
2 tsp | cinnamon |
300 g | ground almond |
some | kirsch, to taste |
Instructions
Beat egg white and salt in a bowl until it is real stiff. Add sugar and stir until ingredients are evenly distributed. Put 100 ml aside for the frosting. Add cinnamon, kirsch (or lemon juice) and almonds, knead to a soft dough.Roll out dough on a flat surface slightly covered with sugar or between plastic bags, approximately 7 mm thick.
Cut out stars and put them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Let them rest for about 5 to 6 hours or overnight in a dry place.
Preheat oven to 220°C.
Carefully brush the cookies with the frosting. Bake for 3 to 5 minutes in the center of the oven. Let cool completely before serving.
