Cinnamon raisin french toast recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 16 slices French bread (or enough to fill 13 x 9 inch pan)
- 2-1/2 cups milk
- 8 eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 cup raisins
- powdered sugar
Coat 13 x 9-inch pan with cooking spray. Place bread slices in pan in a single layer. In a large bowl beat milk, eggs, sugar, and almond extract until foamy. Pour over bread in pan. Turn slices to coat. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and ginger. Mix until well combined. Add raisins and mix until just blended. Sprinkle evenly over bread in pan. Allow to sit for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered about 50 minutes or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
