Chocolate reese's cheesecake recipe details
For those of you who really love cheesecake, chocolate and peanut butter… here’s my recipe for Chocolate Reese’s Cheesecake.
Ready in: 10 hours 35 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 8- 10 packs Reese’s Peanut Butter cups (regular size with two cups in the pack)
- 3 packs (8 ounces each) Philly(R) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter (or margarine), melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pound milk chocolate
- 1 10-inch deep dish chocolate graham cracker crust
Preparation method
Prep: 10 hours | Cook: 35 mins1. First, freeze the Reese cups overnight the day before making the cheesecake. Then when completely frozen, place in a plastic food storage bag and crumble using a rolling pin.
2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
3. In a large bowl combine cream cheese, sour cream, cornstarch, and sugar. Using an electric mixer, mix until sugar has completely dissolved.
4. Add butter and vanilla to mix and blend until smooth. Melt chocolate in a microwave safe dish, be careful not to burn the chocolate in the microwave, once chocolate is completely melted pour into batter. Blend until the filling is smooth and chocolate is absorbed. Be careful not to overmix, or the filling will be to fluffy and crack when cooling.
5. Gently fold in Reese’s bits, reserve 1/2 cup of extra fine crumbs to use in decorating. Pour the filling into the pie crust.
6. Bake 35 – 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Allow cheesecake to cool for one hour before dusting the top with the remaining Reese’s crumbs. Chill until ready to eat. May be froze for longer storage.
