Ingredients

230 g pork, cut into stripes
2 tsp sake or sherry
salt and pepper
1  carrot, sliced
1  onion, sliced
1  green bell pepper, diced
3 slice(s) pineapple, diced
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
1  egg
1 tbsp flour
3 tbsp cornflour
500 ml peanut oil
5 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp vinegar
3 tbsp sugar
150 ml water

Instructions

Toss the meat in sake and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

In a bowl, beat the egg. Stir in the flour and 2 tablespoons of cornflour. Toss the pork in the mixture.

In a saucepan, heat the oil. Add the pork and fry until done and crispy. Remove from the pan.

Stir in the carrot, onion and bell pepper and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.

In a bowl, mix together the garlic, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, water and the remaining cornflour.

In a saucepan, heat 4 tablespoons of oil. Pour in the ketchup mixture and bring to a boil. Stir constantly. Add in the pork, vegetables and the pineapples. Stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Serve with rice.
