Ingredients
230 g | pork, cut into stripes |
2 tsp | sake or sherry |
salt and pepper | |
1 | carrot, sliced |
1 | onion, sliced |
1 | green bell pepper, diced |
3 slice(s) | pineapple, diced |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
1 | egg |
1 tbsp | flour |
3 tbsp | cornflour |
500 ml | peanut oil |
5 tbsp | ketchup |
1 tbsp | soy sauce |
3 tbsp | vinegar |
3 tbsp | sugar |
150 ml | water |
Instructions
Toss the meat in sake and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.In a bowl, beat the egg. Stir in the flour and 2 tablespoons of cornflour. Toss the pork in the mixture.
In a saucepan, heat the oil. Add the pork and fry until done and crispy. Remove from the pan.
Stir in the carrot, onion and bell pepper and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
In a bowl, mix together the garlic, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, water and the remaining cornflour.
In a saucepan, heat 4 tablespoons of oil. Pour in the ketchup mixture and bring to a boil. Stir constantly. Add in the pork, vegetables and the pineapples. Stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Serve with rice.
