Ingredients
Serves: 4- Salt and pepepr
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 3/4 pound thin-cut beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 2 tablespoons peanut oil
- 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 large red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 (1-inch) piece ginger, grated
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1/4 cup sherry vinegar
- 6 cups chicken stock
- 1/4 cup tamari
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Chopped green onions, cilantro, and bean sprouts, for garnish
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 15 mins1. Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling, salted water until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain.
2. While pasta is cooking, sprinkle steak slices with salt, pepper, and coriander.
3. Pour 1 tablespoon oil into a large skillet and set over high heat. When oil is hot, add steak slices. Cook for about 4 minutes, flipping once, until beef is cooked through. Move to a plate.
4. Pour 1 more tablespoon oil into the skillet. When oil is hot, add bell peppers. Cook for 2 minutes, then add ginger, garlic, five-spice powder, vinegar, stock, and tamari.
5. Stir cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water together in a small bowl.
6. When vegetable mixture comes to a boil, whisk in the cornstarch mixture. Cook for 1 minute to thicken, then return beef to the skillet and stir.
7. Divide noodles among four serving bowls. Top with the steak and broth mixture, then sprinkle with green onions, cilantro, and bean sprouts to garnish.
