Chinese rump steak with soybean sprouts recipe details
Ingredients
40 g | bamboo sprouts, sliced |
1 | red bell pepper, diced |
2 | spring onions, sliced |
200 g | rump steak, cut into stripes |
salt and pepper | |
1 tbsp | sake or sherry |
1 | egg white |
1 tsp | cornflour |
150 g | soybean sprouts |
4 tbsp | peanut oil |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
2 tbsp | soy sauce |
½ tsp | sugar |
Instructions
Season the meat with salt and pepper and toss it in sake. Mix together the egg white and the cornflour. Toss the meat in the egg mixture, cover and set aside.In a saucepan, heat half of the oil. Fry over medium heat for 4 minutes the bamboo sprouts, bell peppers, spring onions and soybean sprouts. Season with salt. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.
Add the remaining oil, garlic and the meat. Fry over medium heat, until the meat is tender and slightly browned. Return the vegetables and add the soy sauce, remaining sake, sugar and some pepper. Cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
Serve with rice.
