Chicken chili recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | chicken breast, boneless, cut into smaller pieces |
olive oil | |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
1 | green bell pepper, chopped |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
30 g | mushrooms, sliced |
1 tbsp | chili powder |
1 tsp | cumin, ground |
1 tsp | oregano, ground |
½ tsp | paprika |
½ tsp | cocoa powder |
¼ tsp | salt |
1 pinch(es) | red pepper flakes |
1 pinch(es) | freshly ground black pepper |
400 ml | canned tomatoes with juice |
400 ml | kidney beans, drained, rinsed |
Instructions
Heat some oil over medium heat and saute the garlic, bell pepper, onion and mushrooms for 5 minutes. Set aside.Add more oil to the skillet and brown the chicken over high heat until golden brown and firm on the outside. Return the vegetable mixture to the skillet.
Add spices and stir for a few minutes.
Add the tomatoes and beans and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove cover and simmer for 15 further minutes.
