Cheese strudel recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 package (1-pound) fillo dough
- 1 pound butter
- 1 pound feta cheese (crumbled)
- 1 container (12-ounce) of cottage cheese
- 13 ounces Parmesan cheese
- 4 eggs, beaten
- Salt and pepper
Beat eggs; add crumbled feta cheese, cottage cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well; add salt and pepper to taste. Melt butter. Place a sheet of fillo dough on a flat surface and brush with melted butter, top with another sheet of dough and brush with melted butter. Continue until you have stacked four sheets of the fillo dough. Cut the dough into six or seven strips. Place 1/2 teaspoon of the cheese mixture on the bottom of strip and flag-fold the strip into a triangle shape. Bake the triangles on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 250 degree oven for 20 minutes. These are wonderful hors d’oeuvres or (if prepared in larger strips) appetizers.
Tip:Cover the fillo dough with a slightly damp towel to keep it moist while working with it.
