Cheese fondue bernese details
- Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 cup Reisling wine
- 4 ounces grated Emmenthaler cheese
- 4 ounces grated Gruyere cheese
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- 3 grates of fresh nutmeg
- Pinch salt and pepper
- Dash kirsch liqueur (distilled cherry liqueur)
- Loaf French bread
Rub fondue pot with garlic clove. Add wine and bring just to a boil. Combine both cheeses and flour and stir into boiling wine until smooth. Lower heat and season with salt, pepper, and kirsch. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes, warm in oven, and serve with fondue.
