- Ingredients Topping:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- Ingredients French Toast:
- 12 slices white bread
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- Ingredients Filling:
- 8 ounces thinly sliced ham
- 2-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- One 20-ounce can apple pie filling
- 1 cup granola with raisins
In small bowl, blend sour cream and brown sugar; chill. In medium bowl, beat eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, and milk until fluffy. Heat butter on griddle. Dip bread in egg mixture and cook over medium heat about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Place 6 slices of French toast in bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Layer ham, 2 cups of cheese, and remaining 6 slices of French toast. Spread apple filling over top; sprinkle with granola.
Bake in preheated 350 degrees oven for 25 minutes. Top with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and continue baking until cheese is melted and casserole is hot, about 5 minutes. Serve with sour cream mixture.
