Char siew details
INGREDIENTS:Serves 2-3
250g pork
2½ tbsp spare ribs sauce or char siew sauce (Lee Kum Kee)
7 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp rice wine
Dash of pepper
METHOD:
- Marinade pork with all the rest of the ingredients for 2 hours.
- Line a baking tray or stainless steel dish with aluminium foil. Transfer marinated pork on to it.
- Bake char siew at 220 degC for about 45 minutes.
- Remove from oven. Drain excess gravy if any.
- Return char siew to oven and bake for another 10 minutes using upper heat (grill) to dry the exterior of char siew. Let the exterior of char siew burn a little if you like.
- Let cool and slice char siew. Serve with the gravy obtained from Step 4 with noodles or rice.
