Butterscotch bread pudding recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 slices of buttered bread, broken up
- 2 cups milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Salt
Place butter, brown sugar, and bread (in that order) in the top of a double boiler. Do not stir! In a bowl, mix together milk, eggs, vanilla, and a little salt. Pour over bread. Still do not stir! Cook over simmering water about 1-1/2 hours. Free sides with knife. Turn upside down in a 9-inch cake pan. Enjoy.
