Braised pork knuckles with apples recipe details

cooking apples, peeled, cored, sliced |

Instructions
Place the pork knuckles in a large saucepan with the onions, carrots an vinegar. Cover with water and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.Drain the meat, retaining the vegetables. Brush the meat with butter and place in a large braising dish.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Add the vegetables, apple slices and apple juice. Cover and bake for about 2 hours until the pork is very tender. Serve with the vegetables.
For the gravy, take some of the cooking liquid and mix it with some cranberry jelly. Reheat and pour it over the meat.
