Ingredients
Serves: 6- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, minced
- 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 1/4 pound ground beef
- 2 teaspoons Cajun spice blend
- Black ground pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup dried white breadcrumbs
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Preparation method
Prep: 35 mins | Cook: 2 hours1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Combine all ingredients in a bowl, gently. Form into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet.
3. Bake for 20 minutes, or until no longer pink inside. Transfer to slow cooker.
4. In a bowl, whisk ketchup together with whiskey, Worcestershire, lemon juice, and more black pepper to taste. Pour over meatballs and stir to coat.
5. Cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours. Serve.
