Ingredients
Serves: 4- 4 Russet potatoes, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
- 1 onion, sliced into rings
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 1 hour 30 mins1. Preheat toaster oven to 400 degrees F. Coat a 1-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Layer the potatoes, onions, and potatoes again in the baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
3. Make the cheese sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add flour and salt. Cook for 2 minutes. Then gradually add the milk and simmer until sauce thickens, add cheese and stir until it melts, then pour over the potatoes and onions.
4. Cover casserole with foil and place in toaster oven. Bake for 90 minutes.
