Best Slow-Cooker Roast Beef

Perfectly seasoned, tender meat, with a hefty serving of gravy in every bite. Doesn’t seem fair that it’s so easy to cook.

Ingredients
Serves: 8
- 1 pound fresh baby carrots
- 1 (4 ounce) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 1 (3 pound) beef rump roast or bottom round roast
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 (12 ounce) jar beef gravy
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup water
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 6 hours
1. Coat slow cooker pot with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Mix the garlic powder and black pepper together, and rub the mix onto all sides of the roast.
3. Add carrots and mushroom pieces to the slow cooker. ,
4. Get out a large skillet, pour in the oil, and heat until the oil is hot. Then put in your big hunk of meat. Brown the roast in the hot oil, turning it all over to get all the sides brown. This will take about 8 minutes.
5. Cook on Low for 6 hours. Spoon the gravy over the meat and veggies when you serve.
6. Put the roast on top of the veggies (the drippings from the roast will help cook them faster).
7. Whisk together the gravy, soup, water, and soup mix in a bowl. Drizzle roast with the mixture.
