Best ever cinnamon orange bread recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 loaf cinnamon raisin bread (bakery, unsliced)
- 6 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon orange flavor (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
Slice bread thicker than store bought, and overlap in a sprayed 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Mix liquid ingredients; pour over bread. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon sugar. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour. Let stand for 15 minutes or so then mix 2 tablespoons butter with 1/3 cup brown sugar and put over top.
For larger serving (8), use a larger dish, more bread, 9 eggs and 1/2 cup orange juice more.
Garnish with fruit and serve with maple syrup. Also great on this is my favorite rhubarb strawberry sauce.
