Ingredients
400 g | steak, lean minced |
2 | anchovy fillets in brine or oil, drained OR |
2 tsp | Worcestershire sauce |
1 pinch(es) | salt, not required if using anchovies |
1 dash(es) | fresh ground pepper |
4 | burger buns, toasted |
salad, salsas etc to serve, as deserved | |
fresh fries, if desired |
Instructions
Finely chop the anchovies if using. You will taste the salt but the anchovies will merge into the meat when heated.Place steak, anchovies (if using), seasoning and Worcester sauce (if using) in a bowl and mix together thoroughly. Continue to mix, roll and turn a few times until meat become smooth and light as it becomes tender.
Divide equally into two and divide again. Shape portions and form into burgers between hands.
Barbecue or grill for not less than 8-10 minutes, but a little longer if required.
Place in bun and serve immediately with salad, salsa and a few fries as wished. Have mustard, mayonnaise and ketchup available for diners to add as wished.
