Loaded penne in cream sauce recipe details
This pasta dish is one of the best I have made. Serve with Crusty French Bread and an Italian salad. You can also mix and match your favorite ingredients.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 1lb. Pasta – I use Penne
- 3 slices of Prosciutto, in 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 3 Cloves Garlic – Minced
- 2 Leeks – sliced
- 4 Chicken Breasts – Grilled and sliced
- 6 Large Shiitake Mushroom Caps, sliced
- 2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 1/2 Cups Chicken Broth
- 1 1/2 cups raw spinach
- 3 tbsp cornstarch (dissolved in cold water)
- 1 ½ cups Parmesan Cheese
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 30 mins1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add penne and cook until al dente; drain.
2. Brown Prosciutto in Olive Oil over medium heat. Add Garlic, Leeks and Mushroom and Saute. Add 1 1/2 cups Cream and Chicken Broth.
3. Add Spinach and Bring to a low Boil. Add Cornstarch and reduce heat to medium. Add 1 cup of Parmesan (or Romano).
4. When the sauce has thickened, add chicken and toss with pasta. Put into a casserole dish and add ½ cup of Parmesan. Add 1/2 cup of Cream to top of dish.
5. Put in oven at 450 until cheese is a little brown, about 20 minutes (you can use mozzarella on top, too).
