Basic vegetarian mincemeat recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | apple pulp |
1 large | lemon, grated zest |
1 large | orange, grated zest |
2 tbsp | flour, all-purpose |
200 g | raisins |
100 g | currants |
2 tsp | cinnamon |
¾ tsp | nutmeg |
¾ tsp | cloves |
½ tsp | allspice |
½ tsp | salt |
1 ½ tsp | rum extract, optional |
Instructions
Quarter and core apples, but do not peel. Process apples in a blender.Remove seeds from lemon and orange, grind in blender and add to apples.
Grind the raisins in blender.
Mix together all ingredients except the rum in large bowl and stir in spices and flour.
Add the rum, if desired, and mix again.
Place in a container with a tight lid and refrigerate for at least one week before using.
