Banana stuffed french toast recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 bread slices (1 inch thick)
- 1 medium banana (thinly sliced)
- 8 teaspoons coconut
- 1 Tablespoon margarine or butter
Heat skillet to medium high or griddle to 375 degrees. In shallow pan, combine eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla; beat well. Split each bread slice in half horizontally, leaving one side attached. Pull back top layer of each bread slice; spread 1 Tablespoon of the egg mixture on bottom layer. Place 1/4 of banana slices and 2 teaspoons coconut on the egg mixture on each side. Melt margarine in skillet. Dip each stuffed bread slice into egg mixture, turning to coat both sides. Cook 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Serve with additional banana slices, toasted coconut and maple-flavored syrup.
