Banana cream pie recipe details
Ingredients
1 | baked pie crust |
4 | bananas, peeled, sliced |
480 ml | milk |
150 g | white sugar |
50 g | flour |
3 medium | eggs, yolks, beaten |
2 tbsp | butter |
1 tsp | vanilla extract |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C.In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and salt. Add milk, while stirring gently. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir a small amount of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks, and immediately add egg yolk mixture to the rest of the hot mixture. Cook for 2 more minutes, always stirring.
Remove the mixture from heat and add butter and vanilla. Stir to combine well.
Arrange sliced bananas in the baked pastry shell and top with pudding mixture.
Bake for 12-15 minutes. Chill for an hour.
