This recipe is the recipe my grandmother used. It always turns out perfect, and moist.
Ready in: 1 hour

Ingredients

Serves: 12
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 medium bananas
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda dissolved in
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Preparation method

Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 45 mins

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 9×5-inch loaf pans.
2. Cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Mash bananas to a pulp and mix with first mixture.
3. Add flour sifted with salt, then soda dissolved in hot water, then nuts. Pour into loaf pans.
4. Bake in the preheated oven until toothpick inserted into center of loaves comes out clean., about 45 minutes.
