A flavorful, creamy game dish that comes out of the oven piping hot.

Ingredients

Serves: 4
  • 1 pheasant, cleaned and cut into serving pieces
  • Flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Canola oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup milk

Preparation method

15 mins | Cook: 1 hour 15 mins

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Coat pheasant with flour, salt, and pepper. Heat oil in large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven and brown on all sides, about 8 minutes.

3. Whisk together the cream, soup mix, and milk in a small bowl. Pour over browned bird and cover. Bake for 1 hour, until tender.
