Baked garlic cheese grits, recipe Rating: 4.6

Ingredients:
1 cup grits
1 stick (4 ounces) butter
1-1/2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3/4 pound (or more) extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
1 clove of garlic, mashed and minced
Dash Tabascopepper sauce
2 egg whites

Cook grits according to package directions, until thick but not stiff and dry. While grits are still hot, add butter, Worcestershire, cheese, garlic, and pepper sauce. Let cool. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into grits. Pour into 2-quart casserole.

Just before serving, bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until slightly brown on the top. (This can be kept in the refrigerator over night and then baked in the morning.)

Serves: 4 to 6
