Baked egg fluff recipe details
- Ingredients
- 8 to 10 eggs, separated
- 8 to 10 slices of bread, crustless and cubed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 chopped green pepper, sauteed
- 2 cups milk
- 1-1/4 cup grated cheese (Monterey Jack, cheddar, or Swiss)
- 1/2 pound bacon or ham bits
- 3/4 pound sliced mushrooms, sauted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Put cubes in 9 x 13-inch pan. Pour melted butter over cubes. Sprinkle sauteed green pepper and mushrooms over bread cubes. Beat yolks with milk, salt, and pepper. Pour over cubed bread. Beat whites until stiff. Seal contents in pan with whites. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered at 315 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Slice and serve.
