Ingredients
Salsa Fresca Ingredients
1. Seeded and minced jalapeno (2med.)
2. diced tomatoes (3c)
3. diced white onion (1/2c)
4. salt (1/2tsp)
5. fresh lime juice (1tbsp)
6. chopped fresh cilantro (1/2c)
White sauce Ingredients
1. Chopped fresh cilantro (1/3c)
2. plain low fat yogurt (1/2c)
3. mayonnaise (1/2c)
Beer batter Ingredients
1. Beer (1c)
2. freshly ground black pepper (1/4tsp)
3. garlic salt (1/4tsp)
4. dry mustard (1/2tsp)
5. dried oregano (1/2tsp)
6. salt (1/2tsp)
7. all purpose flour (1c)
Tacos Ingredients
1. All purpose flour (1/4 to ½ c)
2. fresh stone ground corn tortilla (12)
3. peeled, pitted and cut into slices (1ripe avocado)
4. finely shredded cabbage (3c)
5. cod, tilapia or whte fish fillets (1 1/2pound)
6. vegetable oil
Method of preparation
1. For salsa fresca, mix all the ingredients in a bowl and then keep the bowl in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
2. For white sauce, mix all ingredients until get blended and keep in refrigerator until ready to serve.
3. For the beer batter, mix flour with salt, oregano, garlic salt, dry mustard and pepper. Mix them and then mix beer into the flour mixture until get blended.
4. For the tacos, Take fish and pat dry it. Cut the fish into 12v pieces. Take a deep frying pan, pour vegetable oil in it and heat it to 350 degrees F.
5 Take a shallow bowl, place ¼ cup of flour in it. Now coat the fish with flour. Dip the fish into the batter and then coat all the sides.
6. Place the pieces of fish in hot oil and fry for about 4 minutes or until it gets crispy and golden brown. Now heat the corn tortillas lightly in frying pan until they get soft and hot.
7. Now assemble the layer of fish, salsa, white sauce, cabbage, avocado on each tortilla. Squeeze the lime on the top. Fold tortilla over to serve.
