Autumn fruit sauce recipe details
Ingredients
1 kg | elderberries |
500 ml | water |
1 | apple, peeled, cored and finely diced |
1 | pear, peeled, cored and finely diced |
12 | plums, peeled, halved and stones removed |
250 g | sugar |
½ tsp | ground cinnamon |
4 tsp | cornflour |
1 cup(s) | single cream |
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine the water with the sugar. Stir in the elderberries and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar has melted. Add the fruits and the cinnamon, cover and cook for 10 minutes. With a hand blender, purée the mixture.Mix together the cornflour and some water and stir into the fruit sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the cream and cook for a few more minutes.
Serve with pancakes, waffles or ice-cream.
